A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world. ~Oscar Wilde

Stuff I Love

I ordered our my daughter's Easter bunny this morning and I am super stoked for it's arrival. I've already gone way overboard with Easter gifts and I haven't really started yet. Oops. Oh well. He just looks so soft and cuddly.

This bunny caught my attention on A McFall Minute and I just could not get it out of my head. I hope I do a little better than Sara though, and manage to save the bunny for Easter morning. I'm not compelled to though so we shall see. I'm probably going to love it more than the girl does but whatever, that's my joy in being a mama, right?

I cannot believe it's almost time for Easter and my birthday and in a few days (okay a little over a week) it will be SPRING! I'm in my new hot pink J Crew pullover today, with pink Puma flats and I FEEL very springish even though it's raining. At least it's warmish!

Stuff I Love

It seems like every time I do a Stuff I Love post, it's about something for my kiddo.

And it's always something I've ordered. I have zero self control. Dreaming? Nah. My reality is pretty good, I guess. My husband will likely only roll his eyes and tsk tsk when he finds it in the mail box.

This is a little Tea Collection dress I ordered for my mini-me from Zulily.
Of course it was like the very last one, hence my super urgent need to order it. I just feel like she will be so darn cute in it either with something under it or with just bare arms and legs. It will be great for family dinners and such. And the fun colors are something she will love, too. And that's important as she asserts her own little style.

Stuff I Love

I'm a mushy animal lover. I prefer creatures to people 98% of the time. I cannot help it. Creatures don't judge and god knows they have every right to judge us. Consider what we do to them: kill them for food ( i have the least problem with this, actually), kill them because we don't want to share our world with them, kill them as trophies to hang on our walls, abandon them (if they're lucky they get left at a shelter or somewhere they can eat), we abuse them in every way possible. And yet, it's pretty rare that they kill us, torture us, abandon us, etc. in return. Truly rare, considering. I know it happens, a shark eat a surfer, a caged tiger revolts, a dog attacks. But considering the proximity we typically live in and the opportunities they have to retaliate, they don't do it too often.

Okay, well, wherever THAT came from. Anyways, I love animals (and clearly wonder why they love us back) and so with THAT I'm going to dedicate this edition of Stuff I Love to them.

First of all, this scarf. It has been all in my face, so I ordered one. Cats all over it? Of course it had my name all over it. I can't wait to wear it. It'll be far better than wearing cat hair all over myself to express my love for them...although I'll probably still wear that, too.

And then this video. It's really happy but it brought me to tears. This dog Rufo lived in a shelter for 6 years before finding a home. And just the fact that someone believed in him enough for long enough to allow him to leave and experience love melted me into a big gushy puddle. It's really worth your six minutes, I promise. He gave six years to seeing this happy ending for himself, after all, so six minutes is pretty meager considering.

Mutual Weirdness

On a day where my hear't's a little cloudy
and the forcast calls for rain,
this brought a smile
to my
unwilling face.

this is the truth
about love.

Stuff I Love

I've been struggling with format for this blog, well, since I started it. I like to blog about my kid but  I took that off the table. So, who am I? I'm not a fashion blogger but I love fashion. Well, as long as it's comfy. I use a lot of products, clothes and house hold and everything else. I'm not a television or movie critic, either, but I do love to sit in front of the television. I'm not a food critic either, but I love to eat. You get the idea, here, right?  I think it's time to make it clear WHO I am here, besides a mother. For 31 years I was not a mother, and while it now defines me, that is not the entirety of my existence. It's part of why I continued to work, so I could keep a portion of myself, separate from my beautiful child.  I will ALWAYS be a mother now, but she will not always need me the way she does right now. I have to maintain myself in order to be okay when that day comes.

I'm going to start a new feature (wait, isn't everything new here?) about some of the stuff I love. I think not only will it help me develop my voice for this blog, but it will give my handful of readers some insight into who I am. Isn't that what this is about? I think so. And the stuff we wear and use and love is really one of the first tips into who we are. (And let me be completely honest here, I'm sort of totally stealing the idea from La Maman Heureuse.)

So here's my first "Stuff I Love" post. I love the cozy, deconstructed look of this sweat shirt. And the message of the company, the embodiment of love, living the life you were meant to live. It's really an important message to be true to yourself. About Wear Love

I had a hard time deciding between the first shirt and the second. I ended up with the second because it's lighter weight, which in Georgia needs to be considered. It has been an extremely mild winter. They say there may be freezing ice today but I'm pretty sure they are lying so they can close schools. Enough about the snow conspiracy.  I just cannot get enough of cozy sweats right now. I think that comes from the cold and the sick child I've had lately and my desire for it to be always the weekend. Don't get me wrong I love to look nice, but I can be cozy while doing it, right? Anyways, if you haven't checked this company out yet, you should. I cannot wait to receive my new hoodie!
